JOB PURPOSE

As a highly experienced and visionary engineering manager with 15+ years of proven expertise to lead and shape our lifecycle management function for consumer products R&D. This role offers an exciting opportunity to drive product sustenance, R&D cost outs, quality improvements, mentor a talented team, and contribute to strategic business drivers in new product development projects

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Engineering Managers role is pivotal in guiding lifecycle management teams, ensuring the enhancing value of products through the design change management, value engineering, value analysis and quality improvement initiatives from R&D.

Lead Design Change Management KPIs: Direct the LCM efforts for consumer products across diverse categories, employing structured processes while driving KPIs like reduction in TAT, meeting on time closure etc while engaging and leveraging internal engineering, development, CoE teams, external supply chain, service teams.

Drive Upgrade NPDs: Manage projects for delivery of new products upgrades for R&D projects

Drive cost out actions of R&D: Engage with internal and external stakeholders, plan and execute actions as per organization targets

Drive quality improvement projects: Collaborate closely with quality teams and cocreate solutions to improve the quality targets i

Talent and Capability Improvement: Plan and drive key capability improvements for enabling efficient, futuristic, innovative initiatives within R&D

Drive QCO Management Projects: Plan and drive projects of product compliances.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

B.E./ B.Tech. or M.E./M.Tech. in Mechanical

Work Experience

15+ years of progressive experience in engineering roles with a focus on new product development and sustenance leadership

CERTIFICATIONS

Certified VAVE Expert

People management

Should have lead a team of people for at least five years

  • Lead and oversee the resources, budget, strategic planning, execution, and delivery of LCM projects from inception to completion.
  • Provide guidance to multidisciplinary teams, ensuring alignment with project goals and company objectives.
  • Strong background in engineering fundamentals (Mechanics, Thermodynamics, Heat & Mass Transfer, Motors, Fluid Transfer).
  • Experience with Excel-based calculations, data analysis, and visualization.
  • Drive application methodologies such as V model, DFSS, 8D
  • Experience of driving DFMEA, functional analysis, GDT, and stack up analysis, risk management, COPQ
  • Should costing DFMA
  • knowledge of material sciences (metallurgy, polymer science) and coating technologies to enhance product performance and durability.
  • Integration of electronics, electromagnetic, and electrical systems fundamentals into product designs, ensuring compliance with technical specifications.
  • Application of project management principles in driving success
  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, agility, innovation, and continuous learning within the LCM team.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to achieve project objectives, drive alignment, and ensure successful project outcomes.
