Major Areas of Responsibilities

• Part of the team working on New Product Development
• Ensure development of components as per drawings and requirements
• Review designs for manufacturability and assembly by providing inputs at design level for plastic, metal, rubber, coated components. Provide design inputs towards fit and finish, probable variations considering manufacturing process
• Review, analyse and document components and products under development
• Review needs of jigs, fixture and toolings for the products under development
• Undertake components trials and resolve issues at hand during manufacturing
• Prepare a consolidated report on the observations and recommend conclusion along with corrective actions on observations.
• Using 3D modelling software, identify design change opportunities and ability to communicate the design well with development ecosystem
• Interact with engineering design and packaging design teams for reviewing and analysing component and product reports
• Assess component tool development vendor and manufacturing process at vendor for fit for the purpose of component development
• Interact with the vendors supplying the products for assessment and ensure desired targets of product improvement and approval of the product is carried out diligently
• Review manufacturing BOM from time to time and advise the ED teams
• Collaborate with validation teams, engineering design teams and quality department
• Support suppliers for challenges faced post pilot lot for ensuring their production is feasible
• Responsible for development of components towards VE and Quality improvement projects

Requirements

We are looking for a highly skilled product develoment engineer who will work towards end to end product development as per design specifications. Development engineers will convert the design intent in manufacturable product. He will handle fans and appliances product portfolio.

Essential Qualification: BE Mechanical / BE Production

Desired Qualification:  

Experience: Minimum 11 years 

Industry Preference: Experience in appliances is must and fans category is desirable
