Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Supplier Design Engineer to support product development and supplier integration by reviewing, modifying, and validating design proposals and technical drawings. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with suppliers to ensure product designs meet quality, manufacturability, and compliance standards. Proficiency in AutoCAD and Creo is essential.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with suppliers to develop and validate design concepts and detailed drawings.
  • Review supplier drawings to ensure alignment with engineering specifications and industry standards.
  • Provide technical support to the sourcing and quality teams during supplier selection and evaluation.
  • Work with cross-functional teams (design, quality, manufacturing) to drive design for manufacturability (DFM) and cost optimization.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, CAD models, and drawings.
  • Assist in root cause analysis and resolution of design-related supplier issues.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable design standards, regulatory requirements, and internal guidelines.

Must-Have Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Creo for 2D/3D design.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in design or supplier development engineering role.
  • Strong understanding of GD&T, tolerance stack-up analysis, and engineering drawing interpretation.
  • Familiarity with DFM principles and experience working with diverse manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, plastic molding, sheet metal).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of PLM tools (e.g., Windchill).

Work Environment:

  • Office and occasional on-site supplier visits.
  • May involve travel (domestic/international) up to 20%.
