JOB PURPOSE: To lead motor design projects, mentor junior engineers, and ensure motor performance and compliance with standards. Assist to develop innovative motor propositions for performance, durability and cost.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES · Lead motor design and validation activities, ensuring new designs meet regulatory standards. · Implement motor cost reduction initiatives, ensuring design integrity and performance. · Create motor design, testing, and failure analysis protocols · Evaluate suppliers and perform data-driven analysis to support motor development. · Collaborate with CFTs to select suitable motor architecture, create technical specification sheets (TDS), and assist in development of prototypes and industrialization of motors for NPD, Adv Dev and cost-out projects · Utilize predictive engineering and digital simulation tools to forecast performance and lifespan. · Create intellectual property for innovation projects

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS Essential: BE/Btech/ME/Mtech in Electrical Engg PhD is desirable

Work Experience · 5-10 years of experience in motor design engineering or related fields. · Experience with BLDC, Single phase induction, Universal motor, Axial flux, SRM and PCB motor design background is preferred. · Experience of industrialization of motors with CFTs and supply partners is desirable.

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENT · Awareness of RCA and problems solving tools and techniques, Statistical tools and techniques. · Industry Preference: Consumer appliances, Consumer Goods, Home Automation, Lighting, Automotive, Aerospace · DFSS Green belt is desirable.

COMPETENCIES Technical Skills: · Understanding of electromagnetic principles and motor design theory. · Skills in thermal and NVH aspects of motor design. · Understanding of materials, their properties, and selection criteria for motor applications. · Analyzing motor performance using simulation software like Ansys Maxwell. · Skills in creating 3D models and detailed engineering drawings of motors using CAD software. · Experience in prototyping and conducting performance tests to ensure motor compliance with design requirements. · Good understanding of motor driving topologies, including LV/HV BLDC motor drivers and FOC/Vector Control algorithms. Process skills: · Structured problem-solving and decision-making tools such as Six Sigma and 8D tools, RCA tools and techniques for motor design and field failure investigation · Good understanding of the IP process, NPD processes
