Job Title: Design Engineer - Engineering Design

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Product Design & Development

    • Conceptualize and design innovative, cost-effective, and robust consumer durable products using Creo CAD software.
    • Create and manage 3D models, 2D drawings, and engineering documentation for product components and assemblies.
    • Ensure designs meet functional, aesthetic, and performance requirements while adhering to manufacturing and regulatory standards.
  2. Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, procurement, and marketing, to ensure seamless product development and launch.
    • Participate in design reviews and incorporate feedback from stakeholders.
  3. Engineering Analysis & Problem Solving

    • Conduct tolerance analysis, design simulations, and validation of components to ensure optimal performance.
    • Investigate and resolve design-related issues during prototyping and production stages.
  4. Process Optimization & Tools Integration

    • Apply methodologies such as Six Sigma and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) to optimize designs for reliability, manufacturability, and cost efficiency.
    • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in design and development processes.
  5. Product Testing & Validation

    • Coordinate with testing teams to validate product performance against design intent and user requirements.
    • Analyze test results and incorporate necessary design changes to meet quality and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Experience:
    • 2–5 years of experience in product design, preferably in the consumer durables industry.
    • Hands-on experience with Creo software is mandatory.
    • Exposure to Six Sigma tools and DFSS methodology is highly desirable.
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in 3D modeling, drafting, and tolerance stack-up analysis.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing processes like injection molding, sheet metal, and die casting.
