JOB PURPOSE

Category Planning and Activation Manager is responsible for developing and implementing category strategies to drive business growth

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Category Strategy: Develop and execute a comprehensive category strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct market research, consumer insights, and competitive analysis to drive growth and innovation.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams (Sales, R&D, creative, and media agencies) to increase brand awareness and market share.
  • New Product Development: Identify and develop new product opportunities with R&D.
  • Channel-Specific Plans: Create growth and communication plans for specific channels.
  • Asset Development: Develop point-of-sale materials, visibility, and merchandise.
  • Market and Competitor Analysis: Analyze market and competitor trends to identify business opportunities.
  • Consumer and Shopper Insights: Understand consumer and shopper behavior to identify trends.
  • Category forecast & planning: Actively engage with sales team & supply chain in forecast planning of active, slow moving, phased out lines for the category 

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

Masters degree

 

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • 5-10 years of experience in category management, marketing, or sales
  • FMCG or FMCD marketing experience, with brand deployment and new product development expertise.
