JOB PURPOSE

This position ascertains that the Company aligns with all statutory compliances, legal regulations, in-house rules/policies, and internal compliances. The incumbent will be charged with the task of effectively implementing and managing the compliance management program throughout all relevant business areas and layers, offering counsel on compliance-related concerns, while keeping the Company's objectives at the forefront. Our aim is to safeguard the Company’s integrity and reputation by diligently ensuring its adherence to both compliance requirements and ethical standards.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. COMPLIANCE CONTROL & RISK MANAGEMENT:
  • Develop and oversee control systems to prevent or handle violations of statutory compliance, legal guidelines, and internal policies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of controls and continuously improve them. Managing Compliance plan and Controls Assurance.
  • Revise procedures, reports, etc., periodically to identify hidden risks or non-compliance issues.
  • Implement the Company's compliance management policies, procedures, and SOPs.
  • Collaborate with other departments/teams to monitor the enforcement of standards and regulations.
  • Assessing the business’s future ventures to identify possible compliance risks.
  • Prepare reports for senior management and external regulatory bodies as needed.
  • Conducting the Internal Compliance meetings with relevant stakeholders at regular time intervals to discuss action taken on past report, current issues and to firm up compliance program.
  • Manage information flow by researching, recording, and analysing data and information and ensure that the business runs smoothly without compliance risks.
  • Act as contact person and liaison between department heads and senior management in compliance related matters.
  • Conducting internal reviews and audits.
  • Review and input into the development of relevant policies and procedure.
  • Following up on compliance issues that require investigation.
  1. COMPLIANCE MANAGEMENT PROGRAM:
  • To own compliance management program (covering defined compliance scope) and ensure it is working effectively at all times. This involves:
  • Compliance management system/portal (CMS) is up and running free of any IT issues;
  • CMS is up to date with regulatory and organisational changes, within the relevant policies of the Company, after stakeholder consultation;
  • Monitors all operational processes and procedures using a compliance management platform to ensure that the company complies with all legal regulations and ethical standards.

  1. AUDITS:
  • Serve as the primary liaison for all internal and statutory audits related to the compliance function. This individual will be responsible for coordinating and providing all necessary information, documents, and responses requested by auditors.
  • Entrusted with the task of ensuring that all audit findings are addressed promptly and adequately.
  • Use audit findings as a tool for continuous improvement. Evaluate the effectiveness of current procedures and practices in light of audit results and recommend and implement necessary changes to enhance compliance.
  • Maintaining records of all audits.
  1. COMPLIANCE ADVISORY:
  • Keep abreast of regulatory developments within or outside of the company as well as evolving best practices in compliance control.
  • Reviewing regulatory change after implementation.
  • Conducts regular assessments to determine whether policies are compliant with the law.
  1. REVIEW: Review the work of compliance users when necessary to identify compliance issues and provide advice or training. Planning trainings for development of teams on compliance relates aspects and provide timely feedback on performance including areas of strength and improvement.
  2. RELATIONSHIPS WITH OTHER STAKEHOLDERS:

Partner with internal and external stakeholders and communicate effectively with them. Work closely with other functions, including Finance, HR, and Legal departments, and visit various locations, including manufacturing units. Engage in frequent interactions with executive management (KMPs, BU heads/HODs, etc.) regarding compliance matters.

  1. OTHER DUTIES:

The incumbent may also be charged with other duties and responsibilities or be involved in projects from time to time, as deemed necessary by the management/compliance officer.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

CS (ICSI) and LLB/LLM (preferred)

CS (ICSI) or LLB/LLM.

WORK EXPERIENCE

8 to 10 years of working with a large manufacturing company or working with consultancy firms providing compliance support to corporates (focus area being manufacturing sector).

  • Ability to anticipate future regulatory changes and their potential impact on the business. Should be able to develop and implement long-term strategic plans for managing compliance.
  • Strong ability to analyze complex compliance data and make informed decisions. They should be proficient in using data analysis tools and techniques to monitor compliance levels and identify trends.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, meet deadlines, and handle pressure situations.
  • Ability to drive and manage change in response to regulatory shifts or organizational needs.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other teams and departments within the organization.
  • Strong integrity and professional ethics.
